I know we traveled way back in August 2019 to Bermuda but I wanted to share some trip highlights for anyone considering that as a destination for their next trip!

Once we arrived everything was simple. We stayed at Grotto Bay Beach Resort, which was conveniently located about 3 minute drive from the airport! So that was nice since we had a 2.5 year old and 5 month old with us.

Grotto Bay has an all inclusive program which is basically why we chose to stay there. It includes: meals, drinks, gratuities and a free bus pass for easy travel! Food and drinks were so amazing. You have to try a dark and stormy and the rum swizzle! It’s their signature island drinks. I also highly recommend their key lime pie dessert. It’s the perfect refreshing treat. Kind friendly staff and beautiful views! They have a cave on the resort which you can walk through at anytime. They also offer massages in the cave. At the beach just off the shore if you like to snorkel (they rent them for free with all inclusive package) there’s a sunken ship wreck to check out!

We took advantage of the bus right away. We took it to the botanical gardens, harbour front festival, Hamilton and St. George’s. The bus is just their local city bus, so if you have any questions the locals or bus driver have all the answers and are more than happy to help!

Grotto Bay is walking distance to the Crystal Caves so we also indulged in that activity. They were stunning! And walking around the island was so nice to be able to do. We always felt safe and welcomed by all. There is also a local bar that’s famous for rum swizzle and w little ice cream shop just outside the resort to the right.

If you walk straight out the front to the left there is a jungle trail which leads to a blue lagoon you can swim in and a beautiful walking trail. We loved that there were a few activities so close to our resort so we could still pop back for lunch or dinner without worry.

The harbour front festival is basically the best way to get a sense of the culture and the island. Local makers, crafters and businesses come to share their products and provide convenient shopping! They also have music, bouncy castles, and dancers to watch. We took our kids and they had the best night out! This festival is only during the summer months however. But if it’s on while you’re there it’s definitely a must!

We toured Lili Bermuda perfumery and enjoyed the history and fragrances they have to offer. Their fragrances truly capture the island and when you bring them home they trigger memories of our trip! (Check our my previous blog post on the perfumery!)

We toured the botanical gardens and got to experience a heavy Bermuda storm. The rain was so heavy your entire outfit was soaked in seconds. We tried to hide under a tree but it couldn’t save us. We laughed so hard about this for so long and still now it’s a very fun memory.

The beaches we visited were so beautiful, warm sand and sun and the water was the perfect temperature. The water is so blue and clear you can snorkel and see some of the sea creatures!

I hope that gives you a little glimpse of what Bermuda was like for us as traveller’s! We had so much fun and honestly I would go back again and again. There was no part I didn’t enjoy! The views were gorgeous, the breeze salty, the sun warm and the sand PINK! If it’s not on your travel bucket list I hope it is now!!
