My family took a trip to Bermuda back in August. We had a 2.5 year old and a 5 month old with us. Some called us crazy, but I call it experiences and memories made!

I wanted to write this post to highlight one of the things we did while we were on vacation. We decided to take the city bus down to St.George and tour the town! We went into local shops and checked out some great places. One little place that we were drawn to was Lili Bermuda Perfumery.

It was a cute white building, with a beautiful garden. It has that sophisticated, island, vibe. Inside was the sweetest little shop and the friendliest people! They are so knowledgeable and excited to share their love of the perfumes and colognes. We got a tour of the property and perfumery. Which by the way is FREE so I highly recommend the activity! It was so nice to see how they make their fragrances and to get some information about the business and history.

We learned so much along the way. All fragrances are done in small batches and they sell online and from their store in Bermuda. You can’t get these at your drug store! They are unique and one of a kind. Just smelling them you will totally understand why. It’s Bermuda in a bottle!

The fragrances resemble different things in Bermuda and the inspiration comes from nature’s beauty. The salty ocean breeze, soft warm sun and wind to the beautiful flowers and the rich Bermuda cedar. All these things taken into account and blended to perfection. Each bottle is filled by hand and each batch carefully measured. The amount of pride and time put into these fragrances shows they truly work hard in capturing the essence of Bermuda in every bottle.

Isabelle is now the perfumer and took over Lili Bermuda in 2004. Isabelle’s dedication to creating scents is inspiring, she works very hard to make sure her fragrances are exactly how she intended to capture the beauty of the island. Isabelle’s story is also something that while touring the perfumery struck me and hit home, as far home as Canada! Since she grew up in Canada and later decided to call Bermuda home. Isabelle used inspiration from her fathers garden in Montreal and with the beautiful influences of Bermuda’s flowers and salty warm breeze brings us the most beautiful, elegant, sensual and enticing fragrances.

After the tour you get a chance to listen about the scents they have blended and to smell them. I must say choosing a favourite was hard. They all have such beautifully blended aromas and are exactly what you would want to smell like! Each one has their own different inspiration and purpose and while smelling them you get that true sense of Bermuda. Even my daughter at 2.5 enjoyed smelling the perfumes and touring the grounds! I was nervous she would be to “busy” to handle the activity but she really enjoyed it and they are so kind and patient with kids. Which was an added bonus!

Now for the best part! Sharing my favourite perfumes and colognes with you. My husband (and myself) were instantly drawn to the Nautilus cologne. The inspiration behind the fragrance comes from her son William and the strength and elegance in a man. It also carries the inspiration of a Bermuda summer storm. It’s combines the scents of ocean, air and wood to perfection. It’s very masculine and enticing, seductive and sexy. It is a very easy all day wearing cologne.

Coming from a woman’s point of view on it, ladies I know you know what I’m talking about. When a man walks by and you catch his scent and it’s a head turner. Where you do a double take. Your first though is what is he wearing?! How does he smell so good. This is THAT scent! The second my husband wears it I know instantly. It’s so distinct and I can pick it out above all fragrances. It’s THAT amazing!

My favourite perfume is Sunkiss. It’s exactly how you want to leave and picture the beautiful island of Bermuda. You want the sun kissed glow from Bermuda and it captures that feeling in this perfume. It’s a light fun and flirty scent, but long lasting and as a woman I personally love when my perfume lasts longer. It’s never overwhelming. It’s always fresh and crisp! Which is hard to master in fragrances and I have to say Isabelle’s dedication shows through when it comes to those factors! It’s the perfect summer scent and for those winter blue we get in Canada, a little touch of sunkiss to scent your day will turn that mood around and have you feeling the essence of Bermuda’s warm sunshine!
